October is full of awesome in Louisville, and especially in the Highlands. Not only do we get to see the amazing fall colors, but there are more festivals and events than you can count! A Highlands favorite for eleven years and counting now is the Bardstown Bound “Boo Fest”. This year Boo Fest takes place on Saturday, October 25th.
Bardstown Road, Baxter Avenue, and The Douglass Loop like to celebrate Halloween as one big Louisville family. Each year, with the help of Schlafly Beer, they are able to pull it off. The shops, restaurants, and pubs of the Highlands open their doors and sidewalks, offering food specials, sales, music, costume contests, and all sorts of fun! Here are some of this year’s highlights:
(> Schlafly Beer Specials at participating bars and restaurants, plus chefs creating dinner specials using Schlafly beer
(> Treats for kids in all participating boutiques and restaurants
(> ValuMarket presents the 2nd Annual Candy Maze and Costume Contest
(> Free rides on the Thirsty Pedaler (tips encouraged) from 3pm – 5pm. Pick-up and Drop-off at Valumarket
(> William Dean will host 2nd Annual Boo Alley with Food Trucks and Arts & Crafts benefiting Kosair Charities
(> Nearly New Shop – Presents their annual “Fashion Encore” on October 25 & October 26
There is so much more to do at Bardstown Bound Boo Fest, but I will let you discover the rest for yourself. It’s Halloween fun for the family. It’s a great chance to start early on your Christmas shopping (sorry for mentioning Christmas shopping already). It’s Louisville Highlands fellowship.
The fun starts at 2:00 pm and continues into the night, so come out and enjoy a fall stroll along Louisville’s favorite strip, dressed in your favorite costume, with your favorite Schlafly beer.
