502 Restaurant Week, Taste of 502

taste of 502It’s for good reasons that Louisville’s food scene is becoming well-known and being praised across the country. Creative concepts and unparalleled menus are being born at a steady rate, and the chef community in Louisville is working overtime. One of the best winter events in Louisville is upon us, and it highlights Louisville chefs and restaurants, and their vision for the Louisville food scene. It also means that Spring is right around the corner!

Now in its third year, 502 Restaurant Week is back and better than ever for 2015. Between February 18th and March 4th, participating Louisville restaurants will offer a special 3-course meal in addition to their regular menu. The 3-course special can be bought for either $50.20 per person or $50.20 per couple, depending on the restaurant. No matter where you dine during this year’s 502 Restaurant Week, you can be certain that it will be a treat, as the list of Louisville restaurants is growing, and everyone wants to put out their very best for Louisville diners. From The English Grill and St Charles Exchange to Asiatique and The Village Anchor, there is a wide variety of Louisville restaurants represented this year for every type of food lover. You don’t need tickets, coupons or anything else to attend. All you have to do is make a reservation at the restaurant or restaurants that you want to visit during the week of February 18 through March 4, and request the 502 Restaurant Week special. It is very simple!

The kickoff for 502 Restaurant Week is Taste of 502, which is a one night tasting event held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville. Tickets to Taste of 502 are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. At the event you will be able to taste special menu items from the participating restaurants, as well as some of the best regional wine, beer, and spirits. There is also the Taste of 502 Wine and Spirits pull, where you purchase a numbered cork for $15, and take home a bottle of something special that corresponds to the number you received. Proceeds from Taste of 502 and from the Wine and Spirits Pull go directly to the YMCA Safe Place Services.

502 Restaurant Week and Taste of 502 are both great opportunities to see (and taste) exactly what it is about Louisville’s food scene that is grabbing national attention and fueling the chef community. Try new restaurants, get reacquainted with old favorites, and most importantly, support local awesomeness!
